Short interview with me on NPR’s Sunday Weekend Edition about my son’s whole-genome sequence. It’s edited down from 10 minutes of tape. Nothing new to readers of this weblog, some of whom may be as underwhelmed as my son.

Busy times in the household, in case you are wondering about a dropoff in the posting frequency. We are pleased so far with the results. The only notable phenotypic distinction in relation to his sister is his relatively long dark hair at birth. It is difficult in these early days to not think of an Asian warlord when taking in his visage, though with his name that might be appropriate.

I’ve been busy with a very personal genomic project over the past month or so. Needing to make sure that the SNP calls make sense I plotted him on a PCA with his sister. The results are straightforward, and reassuring in their expected nature.
