The most sensible, intelligent thing for China to do is to stand aback and just watch with interest.

No good can and will come from any intervention. In the final analysis, Iran simply isn’t worth anything to China for China to put itself in any sort of jeopardy.

No, this one is firmly for the Islamic world vs. the west. Funny how none of the Muslim states give a damn about Iran, actually most of them are secretly longing and wishing for it to be destroyed.

It’s just a fool’s errand – there’s no point whatsoever in wasting economic or political capital.

If China wants the US to get tied up, distracted and bled in the middle east, this does not enjoin them to not get involved. It enjoins them to get indirectly involved, supplying weapons like they did in the Vietnam war.

The argument here isn’t about direct involvement but indirect involvement. Obviously the more resources the Iranians have the more they’ll be able to tie up the US. But does China even have the boldness to do that? They didn’t with Russia, extending only diplomatic support.

China can help Iran though indirect intervention. China can tell the Philippines today to leave its territory. The Philippines will refuse and there will be a standoff. All US ships in the region and other resources will be frozen in place and not used against Iran. If Iran survives this war, it can be expected to do the same to help China if China finds itself in a conflict with the US.
