According to the Trump regime, an explicit goal of launching the “liberation day” tariff war is to force US companies to move manufacturing back to the US, especially from China.
After two months of on-again-off-again flip flop, the verdict is in on the effectiveness of the stable genius’s “easy to win” tariff war.
Last Friday, the American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham China) released its latest survey conducted in late May. According to the survey, no US companies has shifted production back to the US. Not one.
Although acknowledging tariffs pose rising challenges to US companies in China, the AmCham report noted “Despite the challenges, most companies are not planning to exit China. Instead, they are localizing operations or shifting some production to third countries. None report shifting production back to the US”.
Alvin Liu, Chairman of AmCham China, mentioned that tariffs are an added challenge for member companies. “But the message from this survey is clear: most US companies are not giving up on China. Remaining engaged in the Chinese market is a strategic imperative – one that allows companies to stay competitive globally, adapt to shifting policies, and provide valuable on-the-ground insights that inform smarter, more balanced policymaking.”
Reindustrialization seems to be another bait-and-switch from the Trump administration like his promise to “shut down the Russia Ukraine war in 24 hours”. I wonder when US politicians proudly announce “promises made, promises delivered” in campaign rallies, which promises are they referring to? Maybe the tax cut promise made to their oligarch backers?
Small wonder; everybody is simply waiting for the Incoherent One
to keel over (or be keelhauled).
– Deutsche Bank just estimated that for the US to achieve “balanced trade”
the dollar would have to shed 40% – relative to the World
(Deutsche Bank is roughly as deutsch as Drafi Deutscher so they have a vested
interest in sugarcoating the problem – read: it´s worse – but it provides a useful
“independent” quantitative assessment of the magnitude of the reserve dollar
racket).
Bessent acknowledged as much (albeit in the fine print), and Nutlick cannot
possibly be as stupid as he sounds either.
Investors tend not to be suicidal, instead very much into self-preservation
so everything will grind to a halt exactly like 100 years ago
(Fordney-McCumber Tariff 1922). Somewhere, Keynes is having a serious cow 🤪
I vote keelhauled.
He’s so goddamn erratic he appears to be a junkie. He’s still participating in the genocide of the Palestinians. No Epstein docs. No prosecutions for all the fraud and treason discovered. No mRNA ban.
The one thing he’s (half-heartedly) doing right is moving out a few illegal aliens. He should do whatever is necessary to move these illegals out en-mass. All of them.
Look Hua. Nothing happens overnight. Let’s compare track records; Trump’s promises against those of China.
First, how long did it take you guys to build your wall? Qin Shi Huang didn’t do it overnight, did he? I didn’t think so. And you can bet your last string of cash that right now, even as I type, Orange Man has been working 24/7/365 to build his own wall–the one he promised 8 years ago. The one Mexico will pay for once it gets built. I bet Mexico didn’t pay for your wall. So for that alone, it’s a W in Trump’s column.
And right after the wall goes up, everyone knows he’s going to positively, absolutely, and with no questions asked, send a squad of Marines out from their current LA bivouac, in order to drag Hillary out of the House of the Rising Sun (is that Japanese?). Take take her back to New Orleans. Lock her up. Make her wear the ball and chain. It’ll be Jiang Qing all over again. So even though it hasn’t happened yet, because of China’s thing with their own Hillary, I guess we can call this one a tie. Or just give it to them, out of good sportsmanship.
Then there’s yesterday’s tariff drama. First, threatening China with two hundred percentage points, then shrewdly negotiating it all back to where it was, before any of this started. I bet Xi and his Polit Pals weren’t expecting that bit of deft 4D chess. But anyone could tell it was all over when Lutnick came out like Cactus Jack, hard core to the max, negotiating like he was swinging a barbed-wire baseball bat. Forcing the Chinese delegation to eat McDonald’s, Burger King and KFC–the Americans refusing to honor Li Chenggang’s request for Panda Express takeaway. Definitely a W for Trump and the Free World (which BTW is lining up to kiss his ass).
Add it up. Objectively, Trump and America win, 2 to 1. No further argument necessary.
So you really have to cut the guy some slack. What with all the other stuff he’s doing. For example, his supermarket tabloid affair on social media with Elon Musk. And planning a new Trump Plaza and Hard Rock resort in Gaza, once he moves all the Palestinians (if there are any left alive) to Egypt, or Jordan, or Libya, or wherever it is.
It would be absolute lunacy to move production to the US when Trump’s tariffs mean raw materials are through the roof. Unless your company has literally zero feedstock, it’s more beneficial now to be outside the US than before.
This has nothing to do with industry at all. Trump merely found a back-door to institute the national sales tax that certain sectors of the Republicans had been pushing for decades. Except they were proposing it as a way to eliminate income tax: Trump is using it to finance arms and military crackdowns on Americans.
Huh? You really think Mexico is gonna pay a dime for any wall? Especially when NGO’s, the UN and the US government were bringing in these illegal aliens in flood volumes. That’s a win??
Do you speak English?
Assuming this has *any* grounding in reality, where’s the win in poisoning the opposition negotiation team? Seriously.
As far as wins and losses, don’t count the results before the final tally. A hammer-n-sickle nuke (or 500) might just flip the table on this criminal zionist trash.
They do not sound very “US” to me. That’s okay (F#@! ’em; Big Biz in USA did Americans no favor either onshoring a lot of foreign labor with reconquista attitude, while Big Brother admonished its citizens to take the pill or “stop at two”. )
I take a bioregional approach. More Americans should be growing — and picking — their own cantaloupes. Along with that pleasure might come the difficulty of setting up distributed small scale manufacturing with additive printers driven by solar electric and hydrogen, or whatever. It won’t be done at the snap of the fingers, but it’s doable.

Go ahead, laugh. Better to be underestimated by your critics who are actually jealous because they are trapped in a giant ant hill.
Regarding the USA/Mexican wall financing. It is very easy to get Mexico to pay for that wall.
Simply instigate a 10% withholding tax on any US cash funds transferred to Mexico. Presto, sufficient cash to pay for that wall in a coup;e of years.
Jesus H Christ. Some people take an attempt at humor literally. Now, maybe it was bad humor. That could be. But maybe you are too young to remember last go-around, when Trump promised at every campaign stop to ‘lock her up’, and make Mexico pay for the wall he was going to build.
The point is, for those of you who can’t abstract via humor, you can’t put much stock into anything Trump (or almost any politician) says. It’s all throw-away sound bites, intended for the stupid. That is, the electorate, including his fans. And maybe the humorless here on TUR.
This is silly. If this is going to work at all, it will take decades. So announcing the failure after a couple of months … is ridiculous.
Chinese always import and employ their own in these countries, never the locals.
They build garbage infrastructure and hold poor nations on the hook for repayment for it. So much for China not interfering in other Nations’ business.

Unlike you lying, hypocritical, racist, bullying, American thugs, who used debt to DESTROY target societies through ‘Structural Adjustment Plans’ that target health, education, social welfare etc, enforced by ‘economic hit-men’, when debtors to the PRC get into trouble, the debt is re-negotiated or forgiven. The ‘Jewy Institute’ is run by ‘Lucky’ Frank Lowy, one of the Jewish beneficiaries of 9/11 and a Hagganah terrorist from Nakba times. Needless to say, its attitude towards the Chinese is not sympathetic.
A ‘giant ant-hill..’-Yankee race hatred doesn’t come much plainer than this, does it. Better an ‘ant-hill’ than an open sewer awash with human piss and shit, and discarded needles and syringes, I’d say.
Perhaps. But neither are by Yankee design. Now go back to tending the brood, you AI temp.
