Wasn’t there some Venezuelan immigrant youth bragging on social media about occupying properties in USA? It looks like other Venezuelans took his advice seriously and are extending the occupations.

What does it actually mean that they are “taking over” apartment complexes?

I suppose it literally means taking over empty apartments (or forcing the occupants out) and refusing to pay the rent. Considering how high the rents are in US isn’t this the logical thing to do? Why live in tents on the street? The homeless should organise and do some occupying of properties themselves instead of crapping on the streets.

Absolutely agree. Africa and the Middle East are doing the same, offloading the worst of the worst on Europe.

Many of those countries are pissed off with the West for various reasons (colonialism, economic neo-colonialism, wars) and are happy to oblige sending the scum from their prisons and mental asylums on the boats (they’re all learning from Fidel Castro). Even years ago I heard of a Sudanese rapist who got the death sentence in his country managing to get into Australia. The West won’t deport you anyway if you face the death penalty in your home country, no matter how heinous the crime you committed; it’s some kind of “humanitarian” principle even though the criminals keep on committing same crimes in countries they settle in.

Aurora is not a boring Colorado town. It’s metro Denver. There are dozens of criminal gangs in metro Denver and if these guys try and grow their territory too quick they will be gunned down for sure.

Aurora was kinda run down 20 years ago. It wasn’t bad, still middle class, just some parts were getting older, but it was still better than many other parts of Denver. I drove around it a few years ago when I was in town, it had further declined, naturally, as most of the new growth is in other areas; Parker, up north by Longview, out in the southwest side near the 470.

These problems will persist until something is done about it. On the bright side, all of them in an apartment building!? ha ha, well, that simplifies the solution. A few Russian cocktails, and enough hunting enthusiasts to cover the exits, and ground floor windows… you could fix this problem in less than an hour.

The apartment investor told The Post that they’ve “lost control” of several properties because the gang has taken over units.

Being from the area, I have to re-buff the idea that Aurora is a boring Colorado town. It’s always been the most violent, crime ridden area of Denver metro. It is of no surprise that it is location of choice for a Latin American gang.

Back 20 or more years ago, mexican gangs ‘took over’ many apartments in the formerly black neighborhoods of LA County — Watts, South Central, Compton, etc. — by firebombing the apartments and then shooting the blacks that came out.

Many of those formerly black neighborhoods — used to be about 90+% black — are now almost 100% mexican …

THAT’s how you ‘take over’ …

Aurora should declare the apartment buildings an “attractive nuisance” and tear them down the way other cities tear down crack houses. If they don’t do this, then they’re not being serious.
