The brainy male (Ben Affleck) acts as a consultant to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, a government agency headed up by a black female (with a Latina surname but played by someone named Cynthia Addai-Robertson). Highly unlikely, right? Well, maybe not, considering the Biden administration appointments. Later in the film the services of a neuroscience expert are called upon, and he turns out to be — against all odds — a black man! And for good measure, a scene in a redneck bar includes a good old boy objecting to the brainy guy interacting with his waitress girl friend — a Negress in cowgirl attire. A good old boy with a groid girlfriend? You could visit a different honky-tonk every night of your life, live to 100, and never see that.

British movies are even worse. “See How They Run” came out a few years ago. On the surface, it appeared to be an early 50s period piece whodunit with Sam Rockwell as an inspector trying to solve a murder involving the cast of “The Mouse Trap,” the long-running Agatha Christie play. So far, so good. Then we are introduced to a Noel Coward-like aesthete/bon vivant portrayed by a Nigerian actor. Highly unlikely today, much less so in the London of the 1950s. But the real kicker was when the scene shifted to Agatha Christie’s house. Christie was married to Max Mallowan, a famous archaeologist. When we meet him in the film, he is transformed into a gentleman of color. The cliche “a turd in the punchbowl” comes to mind. It boggles the mind how so much care and attention to detail was focused on “getting it right” vis-a-vis 1950s clothing, hairstyles, autos, etc., only to undercut everything by “colorblind” (used to be called non-traditional) casting. Blackwashing is actually the more accurate term.

I could come up with other examples but you get the idea. Despite eternal vigilance, I can’t ferret out all the potentially offensive content. Unfortunately, I can’t bring myself to do an about-face after a lifelong interest in the cinema. Like the nicotine addict, I can’t quit but I’m trying to cut down.

However, around ten years ago (give or take), all that changed. The ‘woke’ propaganda of current era is, at a deep level, somewhat different from ‘moderate’ propaganda of yesteryear: pushier, more aggressive, more in-your-face. And there’s nowhere to run anymore: that goes for TV, movies and video games now. Today’s propaganda actually seems to be more about frightening, agitating and angering audiences, more than about putting them at ease. It’s as though someone decided back during Obama’s that it was now time to get Whitey up and fighting. Now we hear endless talk of a coming ‘civil war’. They even made a movie about that last year!

Why is that? Why, after decades of striving to keep us as complacent as possible, do they now suddenly want us all freaking out? What sort of devilment are they planning for us? A civil war? A foreign war? A bit of both? Something else?

To me, it seems unbelievable that all of a sudden the Jews would just lose all this power for no reason. If there was some kind of religious revival and people were praying for a restoration of normalcy in the country, I could believe it.

I like the premise of Poker Face, and the pilot was really well done. Two problems with the few other episodes I’ve seen though…

1) Natasha Lyonne is a good actress and more important, she has screen presence. But she comes across as awfully pleased with herself, “I’m sooo cool” which is a real downer.

2) The few that I saw were uniformly, pro-actively anti-white, I mean *really* anti-white. And for a show with this budget and prestige, the writing is clunky and frankly terrible. I gave up.

Like Revenge of the Nerds, the Jocks spend the majority of the film bullying the nerds who are part of a black fraternity. Anyway near the end of the movie when the white coach is about to punch the nerdy school principal for standing up to him, the Black Fraternity founder shows up and says “HOLD IT!” Next thing you know a group of black frat guys show up with their arms crossed staring the white jocks down and they immediately backed off because “White guys fear the black man.” Which is what I didn’t even notice the first time I saw that movie in my teens. But once I re-watched it a few times as an adult I caught on to what was happening with that very scene near the end of the movie.

The same scenario happened in the sequel when the black guys of a different frat challenged the white jocks again and humiliated them coming to the aid of the nerds twice. Then you had movies like White Men Can’t Jump and Money Train where Harris played the stupid ignorant white guy TWICE in two different movies who was bad with money, bad with women. Wesley Snipes also starred in both films with him, and he was always portraying the smart guy with a healthier relationship with women who always had to come and rescue the dumb and ignorant white guy.

After that….I could no longer tolerate Western movies anymore…. Disagree with this. Black movies for black people are one thing, but the fancier blacks (e.g., college professors, NGO executives), as well as the old-school, now quaint, hustlers like Jackson and Sharpton demand that blacks get a piece o’ dat mainstream pie.

This reminds me, one TV show I used to watch was Blue Bloods.
