As a guy happily recovering from 15 years of intense creative workaholism, I can only praise Mr. Anglin’s wisdom in not trying to rape his body and mind, just to maintain the pretense that everything is as it should be. As far too many less smart people do.

Ideally, whatever intense at-any-cost stuff a man is trying to build, should be done by age of 35. Around that time the initial natural energy you’re born with is finally all gone (starts dipping after 25, but at first almost imperceptibly), and after that it’s actually up to you to maintain your body and spirit, to practice sane sustainable husbandry of one’s own ecosystem.

Of course, many of us first need to continue pushing onward like total morons for a few more years, using up energy we don’t really have, racking up mountains of energy and health debt to self, before reaching that final fork on the road, where either you become just another sad sack of chronic conditions addicted to fifty medications, or smart up and take control.

Don’t know if AA will see this, but here goes anyway.

I was a regular poster on the DS forum up until a couple of years ago, when for some reason my ISP blocked the forum address, and told me I had to phone up to get it unblocked. (Yeah, I wasn’t doing that, living in the UK, I’d probably be transferred straight to PREVENT.) I only mention this as a way of stating that I have followed AA’s work closely for many years as a fan and have interacted with him numerous times, and thus have a sense of his vibe.

First off, AA is an artist, a visionary, a man who comes to great insights by means of dreams and instinctual leaps of intuition. Some of this comment section may snort in derision, but until the average anonymous armchair-general gets off his arse to become a key part of a transnational zeitgeist, he can snort into the void. Long before most others, AA perceived the coming change to the West and wished to create an artistic space in which that mood could be fomented. Total Fascism/Daily Stormer was that art project. And one can say, as he has said himself in this very article, that he has fulfilled the mission of that project. Thus he is no longer inspired, and feels himself going though the motions. For those who came to see the DS as a news aggregator/review site, an edgy Gateway Pundit if you will, they cannot understand his malaise, because in their eyes the DS still fulfils its mission, of providing the news from an alternative (‘based’) perspective.

But the spirit of the age is very different from what it was in 2013. Those who are capable of waking up have woken up, as the West has slipped into open tyranny. The new age – dare I say “the age of the octopus” – is upon us, very different from “the age of the frog” in which the Daily Stormer was at its creative peak. Our overlords have publicly taken their mask off over the last few years, and taken off the velvet glove to expose the iron fist underneath – and have brought this fist down not only on those on the fringes of Empire, but also on those firmly at the centre. AA himself experienced this oppression on a personal level years before many others came to feel it, and I would like to remind some of those in this comment section, who have had to sacrifice nothing in their lives to speak their minds, of that fact.

But as an artist, although the DS no longer sets AA’s mind ablaze, AA feels bereft in this state of limbo as he waits to be inspired (note, the word inspiration denotes a spirit entering the body – one cannot actively inspire oneself – it comes unbidden from without by forces we do not control). All AA can do is wait, and work to try to interest himself in the meantime with things which are meaningful to him personally. Inspiration may come again, it may not, and if it does it may have nothing to do with his previous art project. For those saying he should “settle down”, yes, he may indeed do this and find it very fulfilling on an emotional level, but having children is not the same as working on one’s art as an artist, and artists understand this. So while he may be emotionally fulfilled in his new role as a husband/father, he may still be frustrated without the creative and intellectual muse that inspires a man to want to change the world. If it had been AA’s destiny to be fulfilled by family, the chances are he’d have done that already, and would be living in Ohio right now, probably quite comfortably, and ideally working within the public school system.

As other posters have said, I believe that AA should keep the DS open, and go for quality over quantity. Even if that means posting very occasionally. And those around him should not pressure him to try, single-handedly, to bring back the zeitgeist of 2016. That zeitgeist is gone. And we are now all just trying to work out what the new global epoch we are entering is going to look like. And perhaps AA needs some away time to restore the visionary energy that created Total Fascism, as he himself tries to get a shape of what the new art of the future will be.

I got bad news for your desired schadenfreude which is that I get along with my wife and we are not part of the mainstream. I’m not in some business marriage relationship where both parties only pretend to like each other.

When I first got married I had quite a few cynics like yourself tell me that I would be bored with marriage in 4-5 years. Well that didn’t happen. I’m glad I got married and left the singles scene. I don’t like Hollywood and most American women have terrible taste in movies. I also don’t care for most churches which puts me at odds with a lot of rural women. In other words I not only like my wife but do not miss being single. One of my single friends is quite socially adept and he still gets depressed by the dating scene. He keeps running into difficult women that aren’t married for good reason. No one can stand them.

I have been amazed at how many friends we have who have decided to not have kids. They are good, healthy, smart white people. God knows how many divorces have occurred because some housewife watched TEEVEE all day and decided to eat/pray/bang. I am actually skeptical of conservative ideals involving women at home. I think it can actually lead to cultural deterioration if most of them are watching hours of television. I’m of the opinion that women are more vulnerable to television programming but that of course can’t be studied. Conservatives submit to the liberal rule that we can’t honestly study gender differences.

– Get physically fit on an daily routine. Walking + some resistance training (core – no equipment needed)

– Control drinking (one day a week?)

– Get the focus off yourself. Social interaction with people you like. 90% listening and 10% talking.

Just some ideas. Nothing guaranteed.
